Jennifer Rivenbark, the 1998 Southeastern North Carolina Watermelon Festival Teen Miss is the 17 year old daughter of John and Deborah Rivenbark of Burgaw, NC. She is a rising SENIOR at Pender High School. She is very active in the life of her school an d community. She has volunteered at the local hospital in the skilled nursing facility and physical therapy department. She is active in her church youth group and attended the 1999 Youth Conference at Montreat-Anderson Presbyterian College in Montreat, NC. Jennifer has danced for 14 years and is currently a teaching assistance at Dance Express Performing Arts Studio in Wilmington, NC. She has won numerous dance awards including the most recent Top Tap Solo and special judge's award called Fabulous Feet at a regional competition in Durham, NC. Jennifer has traveled extensively this year representing the Watermelon Growers Association and the Watermelon Festival. She has made over 30 appearances and performances this year from the mountains of North Carolina to the coast and enjoyed every minute. In the speech that she had to prepare for last year's pageant, Jennifer came up with a catch phrase to promote the Watermelon Festival and Industry. ENJOY GOD'S SLICE OF NATURAL HEAVEN, EAT WATERMELON! She has shared this with many people this year and truly feels that the people of Fair Bluff, the Watermelon Growers, and the watermelon itself is GOD'S SLICE OF NATURAL HEAVEN.
Jennifer shared her reign this year with her sister Krista. Krista was the 1998 North Carolina Rhododendron Festival Queen. Jennifer is the Reigning Watermelon Teen Miss.

Jennifer has participated in many events throughout North and South Carolina. She has made over 30 appearances and has met many people that have become her friends. Jennifer has well represented the Watermelon Growers and should be commended for her dedication to the festival! Jennifer will be the first Teen Miss to auction off watermelons at the First Annual Dignatary Luncheon that the Watermelon Growers will sponsor on July 31st. We wish her well and hope she has a high bid ($500 or more)! Jennifer is a very talented young lady and her personality is as sweet as the melons' she represents!
